OG Gallery was founded by Senem Ozgoren (b.1990) in 2023 in Istanbul, Turkey, dedicated to be a space to artists of the young generation Turkey who are attuned to global issues such as art theory, gender, migration, alienation, and artistic vision and have the intellectual grounds and heartfelt intentions to respond to them in accordance with the sensitivities of their home country. In an age where the digital revolution is transforming the world, the voice of the young and their inadmissible aid in adapting society to those changes should be addressed through art.
OG Gallery sets course to champion in a new era of contemporary art in İstanbul. Proudly situated in Beyoğlu, the gallery will be a convergence point of artists, art enthusiasts and academics to bring new life into İstanbul’s art scene. A challenger to the conventional and tried, OG Gallery will be the epicentre of Turkey’s avant-garde art movement, and further carry it into the international scene.
OG is the catalyst of change in an Istanbul art scene longing for renewal. Every gathering, exhibit and artist joining the roster is a step away from the predictable. At OG, art is experienced in a transformative way that sparks new ideas and disrupts inner archives of known reflexes.
OG marches to its own beat, showcasing art synonymous with daring and disruptive. Like the artists OG represents, OG takes risks that others shy away from. Exhibitions are not just viewed but felt, not demure, but loudly challenging visitors to question, to confront, to engage rather than just observe. OG is driven by new ideas and creation. Every artist represented, every piece showcased, is fuelled by a real passion born from founder Senem Ozgoren who relentlessly pursues art that moves, disrupts, and speaks in tones that resonate with the soul. It is a deep passion palpable from the moment one steps into the OG gallery.
The gallery’s mission is to establish a living space of art, not just a place where exhibitions spark through opening receptions. Lending herself to talks, panels, workshops and unconventional meetings, OG Gallery is set on a course to become an immediate thought as a cultural and civic host.
